Charlotte man helps 'History Detectives' solve the case of the Bob Dylan guitar - democratandchronicle.com

The episode opens with the suspect guitar, as Dawn Peterson explains how it ended up in her attic. Her father, who has since passed away, was a pilot who frequently flew Dylan around the country. Dylan, her father told her, accidentally left it in the airplane after one trip, an experience to which many people can relate. Despite at least one attempt by her father to notify Dylan that he had the guitar, the singer apparently never attempted to reclaim it. Peterson did write to Dylan’s lawyers in 2005, asking them to waive ownership of the instrument. They responded that the instrument should be returned, but made no follow-up contact.
